FBSR - Tank Waste Treatment

- Tank waste feed is combined with co-reactants and superheated steam
- The waste feed is converted into a mineral product
- Radionuclides, non-volatile heavy metals, alkali metals, S, Cl, and F are immobilized in the crystalline mineral structure
- The leaching resistance of the mineral product exceeds the performance of most LAW and HLW borosilicate glasses
- Organics are destroyed
- Nitrates and nitrites are converted to nitrogen gas
- The stack off-gas meets Maximum Achievable Control Technologies (MACT) requirements
- There is no secondary process waste
- There is no liquid effluent
